The Renton School District has officially released the high school return to in-person learning plan. Surprise everyone is going to return to the 7:20am start time regardless of your in-person or remain remote.

A two-day schedule allows them to keep students schedules consistent, with students having access to live instruction 5 days a week. This will allow for  maintaining. physical distancing; transition between in-person and remote will be seamless and allows to provide a fully remote option, following the same schedule (maintain access for all students to all courses).

According to the district email sent Tuesday evening

Starting on April 19, middle and high school students will return to traditional bell times: High Schools 7:20 AM-2:03 PM; Middle Schools 7:55 AM -2:35 PM (remote and in-person). Students will be placed in groups coinciding with their family choice to return to in-person instruction or remain with in-home learning:

• Group A: In-person students with last names A-L will attend school Monday & Tuesday (remote Wednesday-Friday)
• Group B: In-person students with last names M-Z will attend school Wednesday & Thursday (remote Monday, Tuesday, Friday)
• Group C: Fully remote students

Teachers will provide access to live instruction 5 days a week. They will clearly communicate how/when they will be engaging with students.

Instruction may look like:

• Division of instructional time into half: teaching in-person during part of the period, remote during part period
• Concurrent teaching to in-person and remote learners

The district is hosting a Family Information event to provide details about our middle and high school Return to In-Person plan on Wednesday, March 31, 6-7 p.m. This event will answer questions for families and students who are returning to in-person instruction and those remaining with in-home learning.
