The Eagles hosted the first of 4 meetings between the 2A KingCo Wrestling Pod (Lindbergh, Renton, Highline, Evergreen, Tyee, and Foster). There was no official “dual” between teams, but there were over 30 matches wrestled between the 6 teams. Lindbergh won 11 of the 17 matches on the night, capped off with a pin by defending state medalist Jeffrey Myers over Tyee’s Anthony Pina. The young guys wrestled very tough, highlighted by an “assassin” and absolutely beautiful blast double from sophomore Ryan Bates, and sophomore Olivia Lesan capturing a pin in her first career match.
Before the match the seniors were recognized the hard work and careers of Leo Li (138lbs), Christian Lucas (152lbs), Devon Sanberg (182lbs), Keilani Jollimore (girls 170lbs), and Summer Rae (Manager). Leo went 2-0 on the night, Christian went 1-0 on the night with the ultra rare “leg cradle” pin, Devon went 1-1 on the night, and Keilani went 1-1 on the night. The team travels next to Evergeen on Friday for the 2nd meeting of the 2A KingCo Wrestling Pod meets.
