As the 71st Annual NBA All-Star game approaches it is time to revisit everyone’s favorite argument, “Who is the greatest of all time”. Five people come to mind when the question is asked, Michael Jordan, LeBron James, and Kobe Bryant. A lot of things go into who’s the greatest.

First category, Impact, who is the most influential and who has the most impact on their respective next generation. Impact can be seen as who is their favorite player growing up. Who has their game modeled after the most. Fadeawayworld.net has Michael Jordan as the most influential, due to his swagger on and off the court. Personally, I’d say LeBron James just because he’s known worldwide for his game. And now we’re seeing players with unreal athleticism saying they’ve modeled their game after him.

Next thing to consider is who has the most points and who averaged the most points. Field goal % is another thing to be considered in the stats category. Who’s well-rounded, who is a good offensive player, and a good defensive player. Lebron is top 10 in most categories totals in playoffs and regular season and Jordan has the most averages in playoffs and regular season.

Last thing to consider is accolades. Who has accomplished more? Michael Jordan has the most accomplishments collecting 22 trophies during his basketball career. His airiness collected six NBA Championships, six Finals MVPs, five MVPs, one Defensive Player of the Year, the Rookie of the Year Award, and three All-Star MVPs. Then from there, we have Bill Russell with 17, Kareem with 15, LeBron with 14, and Magic Johnson with 13.

So with the All-Star Game approaching go to your local barbershop, family gathering, or a friend’s house and have this discussion. On paper, the goat is between Michael Jordan and LeBron James. Choosing your side won’t be easy but it’ll be worth the adrenaline rush.
