Wildfire smoke from the Cascade Mountains has shifted moving smoke into Western Washington. Air quality should improve by Monday.

The Renton School District along with Hazen and Lindbergh administration decided to cancel Friday’s football game due to deteriorating air quality. According to Airnow.gov, the air quality index peaked at 4pm at 117, unhealthy for sensitive groups.

Winds from Eastern Washington have pushed wildfire smoke into Western Washington. Air quality is expected to  remain unhealthy on Saturday but improving before Monday.

The game between Hazen and Lindbergh will not be made up as it was a non-league match-up.

The Eagles (0-0, 1-0) will face off next week against Renton.
