Ms. Callahan is the new assistant principal here at Lindbergh High School. Her reason for coming to Lindbergh was because this was her first job opportunity as an assistant principal and she heard good things about the school. Ms. Callahan says Lindbergh was the best place to go out off all Renton School District. She has an educational background.
Ms. Callahan’s favorite thing about Lindbergh are all the opportunities for students to go on field trips, college opportunities, assemblies, summer camp, ASB, college prep, etc.
She says being an assistant principal is good, but she’s new and it’s going to take awhile for her to get used to the school and the community and getting to know the system. Ms. Callahan says she needs to get better at organizing things she needs to do. Its different for her because she is making the transition from Spanish teacher to assistant principal. Her way of dealing with angry parents is understanding that they want to be heard because they care for kids.
Her favorite co-worker is Ms. Slack. They were high school friends and have a special spark. Ms. Callahan says she’s best at connecting with the kids at our school and getting to know them. She has a Masters Degree in teaching from the University of Washington.
Ms. Callahan says one way she thinks she can improve the school is doing the kindness week. It’s a thing she can do to make the world a better place and also the school a better place, and bring the Lindbergh community together.
