Hey! Have you ever heard of DECA ( Distributive Education Clubs of America)? It’s a club that is offered at LHS. The club adviser is Ms. Luttrell, a business and marketing teacher also known as the teacher who runs the student store. In DECA they host a lot of fundraisers and other activities around the school.
A clothing drive took place from October 14th to November 14th. The purpose of this drive was to collect clothes to benefit children and students in need within the Renton community. The collected items will help provide clothing for those who may be struggling, ensuring they have access to the essentials they need.
DECA benefits from hosting the clothing drive in several ways. It provides the students in DECA with a chance to be able to travel with their team for competitions and gives the students a chance to go to camp to practice leadership, business management, and a lot of other skills they might need. DECA members will be able to have hands-on experiences.
The students who are in charge of the clothing drive are Hanna Pham and Salien Meas. They say DECA does not have any other fundraiser coming up although they do go to Tiffany Park Elementary School and help out with their fundraisers and other activities they have going on.
