Mr. Girmus is a teacher/coach at Lindbergh High School. He teaches social media marketing college prep and sports marketing.
JG came to Lindbergh to give back to his community and because this is where he played and went to Lindbergh when he was in high school.
He coaches football and basketball for Lindbergh High School He has been coaching at Lindbergh football for 5 years and has been coaching Lindbergh basketball for 4 years.
His favorite season for basketball was the 2023-2024 season when they went on a run and made the playoffs.
JG’s favorite season for football is his first season the 2020-2021 season There wasn’t many coaches due to covid he loved to come and get the feeling of being a New coach at Lindbergh.
JG’s favorite part of being a coach is Coaching up players and seeing them develop into the future of the team and bring the best out of them. His least favorite thing to do as a coach is to tell one of the players he thought was going to be the future of the team that they didn’t make the team, but he says he has to be honest with them and tell them what they did wrong, what they need to work on, and why they didn’t make the team so during the offseason they can fix whatever they did wrong and improve their game.
JG became a coach because most of his life lessons and mentors were from sports. He didn’t have the best male role models growing up so coaches were his mentors.
JG says he never would want to become a head coach, but if he had to step in and be one he would.
JG’s favorite position to work with is big men. He loves the physicality and the post-game of a big man. It takes a lot of footwork and you have be talented at it. JG loves when guards know how to drive like big men and have a post-game like a big man.
