The Eagles Kitchen Club at LHS offers students hands-on cooking experience while developing teamwork and culinary skills. Led by Ms. Miller, the club also gives back to the community through cooking events and service projects.
The club was created to give students more opportunities to cook outside the classroom. “People wanted more of the culinary class and cooking,” Ms. Miller said. “This club allows them to practice their skills in a fun and supportive environment.”
Through the Eagles Kitchen Club, students develop valuable culinary techniques and teamwork. “Students learn new cooking methods and how to collaborate on tasks,” Ms. Miller said. The hands-on approach fosters creativity, allowing members to experiment with different flavors and recipes.
One of the biggest challenges new members face is a lack of kitchen experience. However, the club’s supportive atmosphere helps students gain confidence over time. “Many members come in with little experience, but they leave with a lot more confidence in the kitchen,” Ms. Miller said.
The club also plays an important role in the LHS community. Members host cooking events and service projects, using their skills to give back. “It’s a great way to support the community and learn about teamwork,” Matthew Cox said.
What makes the Eagles Kitchen Club unique is the creative freedom students have. They are encouraged to experiment with different techniques, making it a fun and motivating space. “The club provides a chance for students to work creatively and contribute to something meaningful,” Ms. Miller said.
Looking ahead, the Eagles Kitchen Club hopes to expand its membership and host larger events, further impacting LHS. The club continues to provide a fun, welcoming, and supportive space for students to develop their culinary skills.
