Mr. Ase is a new teacher this year who teaches math and science. Mr. Ase is 41 years old and was born in Dayton, OH. He grew up in New York, Delaware, and Houston. He eventually moved back to Ohio around 6th grade and to Washington the summer of his 6th grade year.
Mr. Ase attended Green River Community College for running start and attended Western Washington University, majoring in Communications, Japanese History, and Math. He also attended Western Governors University and got his Masters degree in Middle Level Math Education. Mr. Ase said the things he enjoys about teaching are the interactions and the puzzle of teaching. He also stated “Each kid needs something different and figuring out what that is, is neat”.

Mr. Ase stated his hardest part about teaching is pretty much the same thing as what he enjoys. “Each kid needs something different and I can’t always provide what that student needs. It’s hard when you can’t help,” he said. Mr. Ase has a son and teaching helps him whenever his kid struggles with things no one else can help him with.
Teaching has helped Mr. Ase learn more about kids and also himself. Mr. Ase wants to help with hurdles and long jump during track season this year. Mr Ase looks forward to teaching for the rest of the school year so he can continue to help kids learn and have fun. He also looks forward to the day after the quiz or test, because that’s when kids have the most questions.
Mr. Ase is a passionate and dedicated teacher who truly values the relationship he builds with his students. With his dedication to both academic and personal growth, Mr. Ase is sure to make a lasting impact on the students of Lindbergh High School.
