The Renton School District announced Wednesday it will not allow for fans to attend events during the fall sports shortened season. “No spectators will be allowed at our interscholastic athletic events (home or away). Our objective is to provide our athletes with an opportunity to complete for an entire season and limit risk for both athletes and coaches. Limiting contact will assist in reaching this objective,” according to district athletic director Brian Kaelin.

Fans still have an opportunity to watch some interscholastic events via a livestream. Games held at Renton Stadium (football and girls soccer) will be livestreamed via the NFHS Network. Fans are required to pay a subscription fee in order to access the livestream. Most sports have at least 4 home games and it pays for itself.

District and school officials are in the process of identifying other ways to stream home sports.
