Just as fast as the yearbook arrived, all 300 copies of the Aery (official name of the yearbook) is sold out. Aery teacher David Nelson said “its the first time in a long time, if not ever the book sold out before graduation.”  Historically dozens of books are left over, often turning into marketing material for the next year’s yearbook staff.

“A yearbook is the historical book of the happenings at LHS,” said Nelson. “My staff worked day, nights and weekends to photograph school events, sports and activities. Am very proud of the book we put together. If you didn’t notice by now the black marks on the cover is a thermal layer requiring heat. We didn’t know how cool it would look.”

To order additional books in lots of 50, Jostens,  the yearbook printer stated it would cost students $110 per book. “Early sells is the key to guarantee a book. We had only sold 125 books by Valentines Day (the last official day to increase orders),” said Nelson.

“We are beginning to work on next years book, the schools 50th anniversary. We are going to add components from the previous years into the book and work with Jostens to expand coverage of activities in late April to June. Including Senior Prom, Senior BBQ and Graduation through Jostens Interactive Yearbook,” said Nelson. “We will work to keep the cost of the yearbook affordable with sales at ASB and online at the start of the school year.”

One benefit to purchasing your yearbook early. Invitation to the UnBoxing event in the lower commons. This was the first time an early reveal happened, possibly creating the surge in sales the next day. (David Nelson/Aery Yearbook)
