At least two people inside the club confronted and fought the gunman and prevented further violence, Vasquez said. “We owe them a great debt of thanks,” (CNN) Many people are in great despair from this accident and there are a couple who gave us some words.

Fierro, a 15-year U.S. Army veteran who owns a local brewery, said he was celebrating a birthday with family members when the suspect “came in shooting.” Fierro said during a lull in the shooting he ran at the suspect, who was wearing some type of armor plate, and pulled him down before severely beating him until police arrived.“I tried to save people and it didn’t work for five of them,” Fierro said. “These are all good people. … I’m not a hero. I’m just some dude.” quoted by Fierro. (APNEWS) https://apnews.com/article/shootings-colorado-gun-politics-springs-7f079c7feebc32cc8ad46f2724844c18

Another witness, Cheyenne Schulman age twenty, feels like this shooting specifically was an assault on the LGBTQ+ community. She feels unsafe to go outside anywhere, without telling her mom the words “I love you” cause the world is uncertain for danger.
