One of our new coaches this year is coach Wiggs aka Mr. Wiggins. He is the new girls basketball coach. Coach Wiggs is originally from Springfield Massachusetts and moved here to Washington in 8th grade. He’s played basketball since he was 5 years old all the way through high school and still plays sometimes.

Wiggs has been coaching for 10 years throughout those 10 years he coached basketball, football, lacrosse and track. He might coach for our LHS track team this year. When coach Wiggs was younger he had really good coaches that helped him grow and improve a lot, that’s what made him want to be a coach. He wants to give back/do his part for the community and he wants to be the coach that really impacts your life. 

He started his 10 years coaching at Seattle Prep but he got tired of being at a predominately white school and wanted to coach/help students more like him. For his first season as a basketball coach here he said there were a lot of ups and downs but it was a successful season for JV and he can’t wait to be a coach again next year. For next season he does wish to change some of the opponents so the team can get more wins. His goal is to become a head coach.
