Possible pre-season conditioning plan also being worked on within district.

In light of the Washington Interscholastic Athletic Association decision to open fall sports on February 1 has created some planning challenges as many leagues including the Kingco League (Lindbergh’s newest league). During a Kingco Athletics Directors meeting, the athletic directors  voted to move a season schedule forward that would delay the start date of season one sports (football, Cross Country, volleyball, boys tennis, girls swim and dive, boys golf, girls soccer) to late February for football and March 1st for the other season one sports.

This proposal will go to the KingCo Board of Directors on Wednesday.  If approved it would then go to school districts for review/approval.  We will get you more details about the season schedule once approved. Also, it’s possible that we will be able to offer an optional out of season conditioning period sometime in early February (prior to season one).  We will get information about this if/when it is approved as well.

Last week the WIAA announced fall sports would open February 1. A switch from winter sports previously noted in December. The WIAA will announce on their January 19 meeting plans for Winter and Spring sports. The change by Kingco officials will have a direct impact on the number of games available for all sports to finish out the 2021 school year. No information was provided about future season.
