The Kingco Conference inline with the Renton School District will return high school sports beginning with football on Feb. 24 and other traditional fall sports on March 1 (Cross Country, Volleyball, Boys Tennis, Girls Swim & Dive, Boys Golf, Girls Soccer), as conditions and regional metrics allow. Dates for winter and spring sports are awaiting final approval.

The KingCo Conference has made the determination that while the WIAA has announced Season 1 sports beginning on February 1,  KingCo schools will not be starting the sports seasons on that date.

Renton Schools in an email to coaches stated, “several KingCo Districts/Schools are offering an off season conditioning program as a way to start getting student-athletes re-engaged and re-conditioned.  Renton Schools will offer an outdoor only off season conditioning program starting in early February.  Details regarding the off season program are still being worked out.

When athletes return, it will mark nearly a year since spring athletes were on the fields before the state mandated shutdown because of COVID-19.
