New Teacher Profile – David Nelson
We welcome many new staff members to LHS. The Egalitarian asked new staff to answer the following questions. Today we introduce you to David Nelson, the yearbook, newspaper, and photography/videography teacher in room 220D.
What is your name?
David Nelson
Why did you choose LHS?
LHS has been my home for the last 5 years as the schools In-School Suspension. Last year, I had an opportunity to emergency teach in CTE and this year full time teaching.
What is your position to LHS?
CTE – Business Education (yearbook, newspaper, photography/videography)
Where did you work before?
Tri-Med Ambulance as EMT/Driver/Dispatcher
Where did you go to college?
Multiple community colleges, currently at Eastern Washington University as a junior in communications
Personal Life (spouse, kids, pets)
Two sons, Bryson (LHS grad in 2019) and Mason (junior at Hazen).
Did you play sports/club in high school or college?
Ran cross country and long distance in track at Hazen. Photojournalist for newspaper and yearbook

What else do you want us to know about you?
Current assistant baseball coach and my weekends are spent at the race track with my youngest who races Legend cars all over the region.
