Ms. Smart is a physical education teacher at Lindbergh High School. She is also the Renton School District girls diving coach.
She came across the position by receiving a call from Ms. Garrett informing her that a position for physical education was available, and she came in for an interview and was accepted. The enjoyable things she finds about this school are the students and the spaces she gets to teach in. The turf field and two gyms are great.Â
Other things she likes from the multiple classes she teaches are that in foundations, they play a wide variety of games and sports. Things like badminton, archery, lacrosse, and disc it. Strength and Conditioning help students improve their form and strength.Â
Ms. Smart attended Santa Cruz High School in Santa Cruz, California. While attending Santa Cruz High School, she was on the swimming and springboard diving team.Â
Her early experiences were when she played volleyball, basketball, softball, swimming, and springboard diving growing up. Ms. Smart first gained an interest in athletics when she had a class at Santa Cruz high school. They walked and did yoga on the beach. She also had an outdoor pool during high school that she found enjoyable. She took a yoga class where she would walk to the beach and do yoga on the beach.
Ms. Smart attended West Valley College and gained her associate’s degree, then her bachelor’s degree from San Jose State University, finally her master’s Degree and Teaching Credential from National University. While in college, she gained an interest in kinesiology and then sought the path to become a Physical Education teacher.Â
Other than being a teacher, she is also the Renton School District Girls Diving Coach. She enjoys helping the athletes learn new dives and improve their skills. spends time with her husband, dog, and son. They go on lots of walks. She also enjoys reading, cooking, and baking.Â
