Soyan was born on Sept 5, 2009, in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in San Diego, California. He grew up with Ethopian and Somali parents and practiced islam.
Soyan had two siblings, his older brother was born in Michigan on June 1,2008, his younger sister was born in Nevada on March 25, 2010. He grew up being both Somali and Ethopian, he grew up mainly around Somali family members and friends.
Soyan had attended Harriet Tubman Charter MIddle School from kindergarten to eighth grade. After graduating from eighth grade he went to Crawford High School for two years. He took interest in pursuring a career as a firefighter because of his counselar.
Because of his counselar’s recommendation he took a Emergency Medical Response (EMR) class that mainly focused on teaching health and emergency medicine. He also took interest in World History and learning different parts of the world and there similarities and differences.
After moving from San Diego to Renton, he experienced a different culture that was not in San Diego. He saw that the greenery was different, the way people dress and act. He also noticed the support for the school teams.
