The Vice President of the Latinx club at Lindbergh high school explains her role as Vice President and what the club has been working on.

Daira Moreno is a freshman at Lindbergh high school and she’s the vice president for the Latinx club. Moreno explains that she helps the president of the Latinx club by planning events and adding her ideas for activities, meetings, and events. Moreno also prepares events, shares her opinion, and helps club members when needed.
Moreno says, “My goals for the Latinx club is to show Hispanic culture more and make everyone feel included and welcomed.” She says She’ll fulfill these goals by making sure all members are included when putting in ideas, planning events and talking to each member more for different opinions.
A recent activity that was held by the Latinx club was the Day of the Dead sale they held during lunch. Moreno says the Day of the Dead is important to Hispanic culture because its a day to remember the dead. In Hispanic culture, the Day of the Dead is to be close with family members and friends and to remember loved ones who passed away like family members, friends, and pets. The latinx club sold horchata, conchas, and keychains to show their appreciation to the Day of the Dead. Moreno also said that they made photo boards so people could take pictures so others could feel included.
Moreno says that they are planning some upcoming events like a multicultural night sometime next trimester. Moreno also explains they are busy planning upcoming events while having opinions and ideas open for discussion.
Lastly, Moreno says that meetings are held every other Thursday after school from 2:10pm-3:00pm in room 323.
